Whilst there are many positives to working for yourself as a contractor, just like with any career path, there can sometimes come some low points. Unfortunately, when you work for yourself there’s no teammates, line manager or HR department to fall back on when times get tough and it can sometimes be difficult to know where to get help.

Samaritans believe that suicide is preventable, and working alongside individuals before they reach crisis point can help. We understand that working for yourself can be empowering, but can also cause a huge amount of stress that can weigh you down.

This is why we’ve partnered with Samaritans to point anyone who is self-employed to a charity that is trusted and will listen. We have put together a number of helpful guides to give you ideas of where to get support and how to help yourself when the going gets tough. To get in touch with Samaritans, call 116 123.
